I say what I mean and I mean what I say. I'm changing the way skeptics look at racing.

Victory Lane: Jeff Burton

Super congratulations out to Jeff Burton and the entire 31 team.  Week in and week out, they prove that they are real contenders in the Chase.  Off the track, Burton is considered to be one of the nicest and most philanthropic guys in the sport.  Although my boy Carl had some serious issues at Lowes, I was excited to see a good ‘ol boy like Burton pull out the win and pull within 69 point behind Johnson.  Don’t get me wrong, I love JJ.  I think he’s a real talent and an exceptional driver.  But I don’t want to see ANYONE run away with this title.  Thank you Jeff Burton for keeping this Chase interesting.

UPS Staying in NASCAR: A True Testament to our Sport

In mid September, it was announced that UPS would sponsor David Ragan’s Roush Fenway Ford Fusion in 2009.  Of course, we all know this is old news, however, what we perhaps didn’t realize is how powerful a statement this is.  Here’s one of the most sucessful companies, arguably the best shipping company in the world, that simply can’t leave NASCAR.  In making their decision, Ron Rogowski, head of sponsorships at UPS had considered leaving the sport to pursue other endeavors.  He came to the conclusion that most of what UPS needs to improve on, business-to-business relationships, employee appreciation, hospitality initiatives, can be best satisfied by being a major player in NASCAR.

It got me thinking, what other sport has as many brand loyal fans?  There isn’t one.  The fact of the matter is NASCAR enthusiasts are a loyal bunch of people.  Everyone has one driver they LOVE and one driver they HATE more than anything.  In one area you have people cheering for 43 different teams.  Sure, the cheering isn’t distributed evenly, but if you look hard enough at the track this Sunday, you’ll see someone wearing a Dave Blaney hat.

My point is, spread the joy of NASCAR to people you know and love.  It really is the most unique sport in the entire world, and it’s the most American thing I participate in every week.

Well folks, it’s time for me to get my act together.  I stopped posting and I feel bad about it.  I really miss making these videos.  Now that the Chase is on and my boy Carl is doing so well, I’ve decided to start up again.
